Porcelain Skin is a project about the controversy that still exists around tattoos to this day. An example of this is negative reactions by parents when their children arrive home with a new tattoos. I tries various experiments starting a pattern and the placement of the patterns. How would people react when they see tattoos on classical sculptures.
After the experiment I saw that the controversy mostly lives amongst the elderly. To show them that tattoos are also an art form, I created these plates inspired by 'Delfts Blue' porcelain. This style is most common in the homes of Dutch elders.
After I made these plates I also made a rug to go with it, inspired by a Persian rug
